This summer, Camp Fire campers and alumni celebrated 50 years of memory-making at Camp Wintaka — with the promise of many more years to come. The reunion, held July 21-22, 2007, found former and current staff and alumni catching up with “old” friends, singing songs around the campfire, sharing stories, and making s’mores!
Every memory of Camp Wintaka begins with the memory of Virginia Reid Moore, a long-time Camp Fire leader, in whose name the property was donated to Camp Fire by her father Will J. Reid.
With over 100 people in attendance, reunion campers were spread all over camp — from the Addies to the pool cabins (former stable cabins to the old-timers!) and all points in between.
