At Camp Fire Greater Long Beach we deliver programs that help build group cohesiveness. Trained facilitators guide participants through a series of challenges that enhance individual and team growth. The focus of our course is to provide valuable lessons that will enhance your success in the classroom, workplace, and in everyday life. We specialize in helping groups that could fine tune skills in teamwork, trust, and communication.
The challenge course is comprised of three program tools: Games and Initiatives, Low Elements, and High Elements. Every element is “Challenge by Choice”- it is solely up to the individuals participating to decide their role in each activity. Whether on the ground or 35 feet in the air, our program gives every participant the opportunity to reach beyond their limits.
Our program is perfect for groups looking for a fun hands-on way to take their group dynamics to the next level. We tailor each program to fit the needs of each client. Whether you are looking for leadership training, group cooperation, or a fun day of problem solving, we can make it an exhilarating experience.
Camp Fire club groups receive a special discounted price, and may be eligible to receive emblems or beads for completion of the course. Leaders appreciate the opportunity to learn new group management techniques when observing.
A basic goal is to increase the individual’s level of self-concept. The way to help do this is to have the group and or the individual participants attempt a series of activities involving some physical and emotional risk. Growth takes place when people are willing to face the unknown, and make an effort to accomplish the difficult.
It is when participants deal with failures that inner feelings, self-image, success, and a true self begin to develop. The close encounters program is designed to push participants into areas in which they are not comfortable and is beyond their limits. By doing this, participants are forced to trust the groups that they are with helping them create a bond that will increase the efficiency in which the team works. Also, needed to increase the efficiency of the group is to work together in a cooperative, mutually supportive atmosphere. It is also important to remember success is not determined by whether or not a group finishes the goal but how they function as a group and what their group dynamics were as they worked to accomplish the goal of the group.
All of these initiatives are designed to give groups and individuals a positive experience with mental and physical challenges. These initiatives require that there is full participation among members of the group. Group members are challenged to work together, communicate, and trust each other to accomplish the initiative. This effort leads to greater trust, togetherness, involvement, increased self-concept, and a broader understanding of each other’s needs and abilities; this helps make a successful team.
